In Reading this year, we will be focusing on using different strategies to help with reading comprehension and critical thinking.  Some of the skills we will be applying to both short stories and novels include comparing and contrasting, cause and effect, story structure, main idea and details, drawing conclusions, and text and graphic features.

Reading is SO SO important, so please encourage your child to read independently at home and read to them as well!  Having discussions with your child about what they're reading helps them with their reading comprehension as well.
